Okay, disclaimer here… Leo’s is our favourite little neighbourhood pub. You might think our review is a little biased because of that, but it became our favourite little spot for a reason.

Leopold’s Seton opened in November 2025. We were late to the party. Even though we watched it being built and anticipated the opening, we didn’t go there until early March. We didn’t know what we were missing.

Leo’s reminds us of the bar from the old TV show Cheers—it’s the place where you walk in, and everyone welcomes you back. Where you’ve got your own special seat (in the Flames room, center table by the big garage door) waiting for you, and you’ve sat there so many times you can almost see the imprint of your tushie in that chair. 

The first time you walk into a Leo’s, it’s a little bedazzling for your eyes. Virtually every square inch of wall space is covered in a massive, sprawling collage of memorabilia. The interior is deliberately designed to feel like a cozy, cluttered, and nostalgic neighbourhood dive bar. 

The cool part is that customers are encouraged to bring in and add their own decorations to the walls if they can find an open spot. You will find the walls plastered with Polaroid photos of real patrons pinned up all over the pub. And where the smiling faces end, there are old video game cartridges, 8-track tapes, vintage posters, sports cards, and pennants. 

Depending on which Leo’s you’re visiting, you’ll find nods to the specific neighbourhood or city. Our little Leo’s in Seton has a full Calgary Flames room, where every single thing is Flames-related.

It’s not only a neighbourhood bar, but it’s also a fun place to take your family for a meal. When your kids get bored, you can get a little ‘I Spy’ action going—which we did see one brilliant mother put into play one day—and keep your kids entertained long enough to enjoy your meal.

Traditional, rugged pub finishes are part of the charm. The spaces feature heavily stained oak bars, classic brass footrests, and exposed brick accents. Seating generally consists of classic wooden tables, bar stools, and casual booths. Warm, low-key ambient lighting mixes with late-night party and patio lights strewn across the ceiling. It screams relaxed, upscale, lived-in, and fun.

Expect live and lively, though…Because the spaces are compact and highly social, the room quickly fills with the loud chatter and laughter of group gatherings. You will usually hear an upbeat, casual playlist playing in the background, spanning anything from classic rock to indie tracks. And if you don’t like the music you just gotta ‘drop a dime’…well, some credits, in their virtual jukebox, and then you get to choose the next song. 

One of the things we really like about Leo’s is how their food specials change. If you haven’t tried any of Leo’s ‘Poutine of the Week’ choices, you’re really missing out. They’re decadent on bust and always crazy delicious.  There’s also an anticipated changeover of the monthly featured wings, sandwiches, burgers, and cocktails. By the time the end of the month comes, you’re sad to see your new (monthly) favourite go, but really excited to see what’s coming next.

Some of them are so yummy, we really wish they’d stay. Seriously good!

They also have some pretty sweet weeknight deals. Taco Tuesday brings discounted tacos and margarita pairings, while Wing Wednesday gets you half-priced traditional wings, boneless wings, and cauliflower bites from 2:00 PM to close.

And for all the late-night creatures out there, there’s a Late Night $5 Menu running daily from 11:00 PM to close, with a lineup of four favourites: Junior Smash Burgers, Leo’s Lager, Leo’s Fizz, and Leo’s Island Iced Tea.

A special shout-out to Grace, who always goes out of her way to make us feel like we’re part of the Leo’s family, and to Dave and Emily for being such friendly, familiar faces. We keep joking that one of these days, we’re just gonna walk in the door and head to our spot… You know the one. They’re just going to place our order on the table without us even asking, and then we’ll see it: our own little ‘Bobbi and Geoff’s spot’ tucked onto the wall, right above our seat.

That’s when we’ll know we haven’t just found a great local pub—we’ve officially found our home away from home. Until then, you’ll know where to find us: in our spot, enjoying the best vibe in Seton.
